I first met DeeDee Hamric while teaching a yoga class for Centered Yoga + Movement at CoreLife Eatery.

Within moments of meeting her, I was in awe of her radiant beauty, professionalism, and genuine kindness.

As I've gotten to know more about DeeDee and realized we already had several mutual and awesome friends, my respect and admiration for her has only grown.

An incredible coach, mother, and human being—without further ado, the one and only DeeDee Hamric!

KH: THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR INSIGHT AND INSPIRATION! WHAT DO YOU DO IN THE WORLD AND WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST PASSIONS?

DH: Thanks for having me!

I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and I specialize in and LOVE helping busy women get healthy, gain energy, and fall in love with becoming the best versions of themselves!

I love what I do and watching clients grow into the people that they were meant to be!

My other passions include being a mama to a 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter who keep me young (and busy)!

KH: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED THE MOST OVER THE YEARS IN THIS FIELD?

DH: One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that humans are born with all of the knowledge they need to get healthy.

We intuitively know the foods we should be eating and the types of workouts that are best for our body. The problem is that most people aren’t given the space or chance to listen to their own inner wisdom.

We are bombarded by infomercials and businesses offering quick fixes.

We hear weight loss success stories from friends and family and think that what worked for them will work for us.

We see drastic before and after body transformations that make us feel helpless when these programs don’t work for us.

The reasons people are attracted to ‘quick fixes’: 1) we live in an instant gratification society and 2) because they act as band-aids for what’s really going on beneath the surface.

This can be emotional issues, trauma, stress, relationship troubles etc.

As a coach, I guide clients in identifying what’s REALLY holding them back, and provide them with tools and resources to remove the emotional roadblocks.

From there we begin implementing simple yet effective dietary and lifestyle changes on their terms, while I guide and hold them accountable to achieving the goals they’ve set for themselves.

KH: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF YOUR JOB?

DH: Watching/celebrating clients overcoming roadblocks and transform their lives!

Knowing that our work together has set them on a healthier path is very rewarding.

After a few sessions, my clients start glowing (I’m not kidding!) and no, not because they’re pregnant but because they are getting truly healthy from the inside and out!

KH: YOUR WEBSITE AND WORK IS AMAZING!

DH: Thank you! I am very proud of how it turned out.

Putting a website together is one tough labor of love. I received a lot of encouragement, advice, and support from friends and other coaches. I couldn’t have done it without them!

KH: WHAT'S THE BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

DH: “DeeDee, it’s okay to ask for help.”

I received this advice after juggling 2 young kids, a marriage, a full-time career, and all of life’s demands. I was caught in a tornado but I didn’t want anyone to see me sweat.

I bottled up everything I was feeling and told myself I was going to "handle it" until one day I had a nervous breakdown right before I was supposed to meet my friends for lunch.

I called to cancel and told them that I was feeling overwhelmed. Instead of just saying “okay, no worries!” they insisted on driving to my house with a case of Corona and Lays potato chips—I mean, a case of kombucha and kale chips. 😜

We sat on my back porch (because my house was a total disaster) and laughed and cried and laughed some more.

I knew at that point I wasn’t in this alone and that I had friends and family I could count on when I needed them most. 💖

KH: WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED? WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO COLUMBUS? WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT #CBUS?

DH: Born and raised in Columbus! I went to college at Ohio State and I always thought I would move to New York or Chicago but the older I got, the more I fell in love with Columbus and its community, collaboration, and constant growth and innovation. It’s also a great place to raise a family! 😊

KH: WHAT GETS YOU OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING? WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED AND EXCITED ABOUT LIFE?

DH: Helping people change their lives!

We’re all in this together and if we can help one another become better, healthier versions of ourselves, we can change the world!

KH: ANYTHING ELSE?!

I have a meal planning workshop coming up this Sunday, September 2nd at Clean Juice Polaris. Information and Registration can be found here: https://www.deedeehamric.com/events/meal-planning-workshop-w-deedee-hamric
